5 months?
I can't believe its been 5 full months since my last blog! Time has flown by.
We are well. We've been in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a year.
Taylor, is 6. She turned 6 in April. She's fully reading at a 3rd grade level. She loves to sing and read her bible. Every night, she wants to read her bible in bed. She's a go getter for sure. She's lost two bottom teeth and has grown a few inches
Kamdyn, is 4. She turned 4 in April. She's spelling and is reading basic words. She can swim with out a float. One night we told her, we would give her a full bowl of chocolate chips if she took her vest off to swim. Sure enough she took it off and swam across the pool, long ways! She's getting big!
Harper, he's 2 1/2. He is all boy. He eats us out of our house, already! I bought him a soft baseball bat and ball. He hasn't put it down. He is currently sleeping with it, in his big boy bed! We made the switch from crib to big boy bed in June. He loves it! He's also almost fully potty trained.
Landri, is 8 months! WOW! I can't believe she's already that big. She's crawling, pulling herself up, eating food. Tonight, she almost put her leg up on the second stair. She has yet to sleep through the night! She's the baby for sure.
Jake and I are doing well. Jake, is almost done recording his 2nd album. Just a few more "layers" and he will be finished. It should be out by Christmas. My photography business, has picked back up since moving. We're busy as always with 4 kids.

Its been too long!
Now, I have so much time on my hands during the day to keep up with this blog. Not really!
We're doing well. Loving life in Florida.
Kids are doing well. Taylor, is 5 almost 6. She's a year a head in school. So, she currently doing 1st grade instead of kindergarden. She's excelling at reading and writing. She loves to help with Landri. She loves riding her bike and playing.
Kamdyn, read her first real book yesterday. Yes, she is 3 almost 4. We've been working on sounding out words and putting them together. She's doing well with helping me with Landri.
Harper, well he's a boy. He loves dirt, loves cars, trains and trucks! He's already eating us out of our house. We're working on our colors. He's doing well. So far, he has the color blue down.
Landri, is doing well. She's sleeping, eating and growing. Her sisters and brother love her so much! She's in the 90% in weight and height. She giggled for the first time yesterday.
Jake, is recording his 2nd album starting in April. He's super excited. He'll be recording it at a studio in North Carolina. The same studio that he used for his 1st cd.
Me, I'm good. Trying to juggle 4 children. Someone once said that 3 child is dreading water and 4 children is sinking! Ha, I believe it. I enjoy them all but its overwhelming at times. So, pray for us!

Happy New Year!
Better late then never! Happy New Year.
We are doing well. Landri, is such a beautiful baby. Perfect, yes. She's a good sleeper. At night time she sleeps about 6 hours. During the day she's nursing about every 3 hours. She can sleep through everything! I guess as #4 you have to survive!
Taylor, is loving life. Doing well in home school. She is thriving, doing a 1st grade and she's 5 1/2.
Kamdyn, is becoming such a sweet little girl. She has such a sweet spirit. She's thriving in home school as well (preschool). She's almost reading. She's spelling and sounding out words and she's 3 1/2!
Harper, just turned 2 on Saturday January 5! I can't believe this little boy is 2! He's into everything and loves to pester his little sister, Landri. He's a sweet boy. He's in love with trains, trucks and bob the builder. For his birthday, we took the kids to monkey joes and celebrated with a train cake. He got a ride on buzz car, which he loves driving around!
Jake and I are doing well. Jake, is working on a getting a new CD together. He's hoping to record at some point during 2013. Me, having 4 children is an adjustment! Its wonderful, crazy and I would never change it. Our church, NorthStar Fort Lauderdale, is awesome. The Lord has awesome plans for the people of Fort Lauderdale! When you remember, praying for us, our church and our family!

Landri Rose Ferrell is HERE!
Landri Rose is finally here!
Well, she's actually almost a month old already.
She was born on Monday November 26, 2012 at 10:56am. She weighted a whopping 9lbs 8oz and was 20inches long.
I got out of bed around 4:30am with terrible hip pain. No contractions just hip pain. I started to walk around and than I decided to get in the bath tub. Nothing was happening so, I just relaxed in the tub. At 6:30am I started to have contractions 3 mins apart. I woke Jake up and told him to call our midwife, we were having a home birth. She was coming from Miami (30mins) and I didn't want her to get stuck in morning rush hour traffic. She arrived at 8am.
My best friend came and picked up Taylor, Kamdyn and Harper and took them to her house at 8:30am. We blew up the birthing tub and I finally got in it at 9:30am. Landri arrived at 10:56am. My first thought was wow, she's huge and my second thought was wow, that was the most painful birth I've ever had! My midwife said that the bigger the baby, the more pain and she was right. After having 3 out of 4 without medication, I can attest to that!
She was absolutely gorgeous dark hair, dark skin. Her chubby cheeks and perfect little pucker lips!
I love home births and everything that comes with them. I love the one on one time that is giving right after birth. No cutting the cord, not bothering the baby, not weighing. Just the mom and baby bonding time. Its incredible!
So, in saying all of that, the midwife did her check on Landri after about 2 hours and noticed she was having mild breathing distress. Landri, did have merconium (dark poop) at birth. So, the midwifes concern was she might have breathed in some merconium. She pumped Landri's stomach and there was a little merconium in her stomach. She also listened to her lungs and noticed that the right lung sounded a little fuzzy. So, our midwife suggested that we call our pedi. We were able to see our pedi at 6:00pm, Monday night. She than sent us up to the NICU, as a precaution. So, we were admitted on Monday night. It was honestly the scariest moments. Jake and I cried, balled and cried some more. After 24 hours Landri was fine and healthy! I stayed in a chair right by her, slept in a chair and never saw the outside world, until we went home on Saturday! It was a great bonding time for my little girl and I.
Sometimes things don't go as planned. But I am grateful for the home birth. If we birthed at the hospital and all of this happened, we would have never bonded. Landri, would have been whisked away. But I am grateful for the medical staff and the Neonatal Dr. they were awesome!
Our Landri girl is now getting a good dose of being the baby to 3 older siblings!
