Well many of you know that Jake and I have had a rough last 6 months. Around September 2007 Jakes dad got very sick and in December 2007 my Aunt Nicki and Uncle Danny were in a tragic car accident. Jakes dad progressively got worse over the course of 4 months and entered into heaven on January 9th 2008. What was so amazing about his death was Jake and I along with the whole family got to be by his bed as he took his last breath. I say amazing because, if you have every seen someone go to be with Jesus.....Its so peaceful!
My Aunt and Uncle stopped to help a young kid on the side of the road who had gotten into a car accident. When they did they were hit directly by a car going around 50 miles per hour. They are heros to me...they risked there lives to help another. Well they both had multiple major injuries...and my Aunt Nicki didn't recover and passed away on January 9th 2008 as well. We both agree that the last six months were a valley for us and 6 months later we are coming out of the valley and standing on the mountain of the Lord and his Glory! I can't explain what it is like to have two close family members go to heaven on the very same day.....Sometimes Jake and I wonder if when they got to heaven....did they know each other because of us? Wow crazy. I have a song on my blog for them and its "Go rest high on that mountain." by Vince Gill......amazing song.....

Great week!
This week my dad was visiting. It was such a good visit. He was born and raised 45 mins from where we live now. So, he gets to see all of his family when he comes up as well.
It was such a good week but I don't have any pictures to show! Which if you know me, I am always caring the camera.
We went to this mall right down the street from our house. Its a mexican mall! Inside the mall its all in spanish except for only a few stores...it is really a neat place and it has amazing cuisine.
We also had to hit up Toys R Us while Papa was here. He bought Ta some new toys, which she loves. There is one toy that has a microphone that she can sing or talk into and she thinks its the funniest thing to hear her voice.
And lastly we had to get steaks at the Peach Stand! For the people who do not know what the Peach Stand is....its a small "old" but new (building) corner store.. With great meat!
We had such a great week! I hated to see it end and to see Papa go home. I will post some new pics soon.

The ZOO
1. The cutest thing at the ZOO!
2. daddy (jake) got a little tired so he decided to rest!
3. Nana and Ta sitting on the lion
4. The Fam!
5. Just us...We went to the ZOO, in Columbia S.C. today! Its only an hour south of us, which isn't bad at all. It was more for the adults than for Ta. She did enjoy herself, but at times didn't know what to think about the animals. Of course Nana is in town so we had to go! It was so much fun. If you haven't been you should make a trip this summer.

JULY 1st
Wow, I can't believe July 1st is upon us already! That means half of the year is gone and Christmas will be here soon. Taylor is 15 months today. Jacob and I were both telling ourselves we no longer have a baby but a toddler. I think in the last post I wrote Ta was getting 4 teeth all at the same time.....well I was wrong it is now 5. I was wondering why she couldn't sleep very well...and there yah have it!
I have been reading a lot of books lately, mostly Francine Rivers. It started when we went to Florida in April. I started to read The Shack (great book) and than got into Francine Rivers. I just finished up "The Scarlet Thread." Now, Jacob and I are going to read the "Lions Series" and "The Five Men who Changed Eternity" together. We have decided to turn the tv off at night and start reading together. Our first night was last night....it was amazing and I would recommend it to all you married couples! You can get the books at the Library.

Gasoline
WOW! South Carolina has the cheapest gas in the country, because we do not have a gas tax. In saying this I just paid $3.95 for a gallon of gas! The days are gone when you could buy 5 gallons of gas for $5.00. My children will never know...
Jacob informed me that Brazil is energy independent. Which means they do not depend upon OIL! They use a sugar based ethanol. Why couldn't we do something like this? It makes complete sense.......one word.....POLITICS!

Great day!

Wednesdays are our day off. So, today we went to Chipotle (for us), Sam Ash Music Store (for Jacob) and a great antique store (for me) in Charlotte, NC. The antique store owners are from Savannah, Georgia and they studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The reason why I am saying this is my family has lived in Savannah for more than 30 years. Including my Grandfather being stationed there and working at Saint Joseph's hospital as doctor. I am not from Savannah and have never lived there, just some of my immediate family. I should have asked the owners of the company if they knew my family but I didn't even think about it until I left. I also think about how small the world is when things happen like that! Anyways, this antique store was amazing. I guess it can be classified as an upscale antique store. We couldn't afford anything inside (example price $500.00 for one dinner plate) but it was just really neat to look! Well in saying all this, it was a really good day. I have posted some pics of Taylor in the car reading her book!
